  • Hi Melaina,
Great job mapping out different important aspects of racism, and talking about the emotional side in addition to the literary side. I urge you though to go deeper into your topic. You’ve said that your topic is “racism” for a while now, and while that is something extremely prevalent, especially today, it’s too general. Do you want to look more into the solutions of racism and why/how they are/aren’t working? Do you want to focus on where racism stems from? I encourage you to try and break down your topic more to find an idea that can later become your central statement. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about what I’m saying.
    Best of luck!

    Melania,
Nice work here! I think you did a good job starting to unpack the factors of racism. I encourage you to think about how you can expand this mind map to be more specific. Maybe you could create a Mind Map of a single instance of racism?

I agree with your reflection that you are making progress, and I hope that you grow more comfortable interacting with others as the year progresses. Hopefully our overnight will help!

    Nice work!

  • Nice job! I love how much detail you put into your mind map and it is really great. I am going to ask you the same question I asked Hussein, Did mind mapping help you?

    • To be 100% honest, I’m not really sure. I liked the thought of physically mapping things out (plus I love art) but I found mind mapping to be rather difficult. I attempted to do another mind map for the 5th blog post but I only wasted a lot of paper. I’m not very good at mind mapping.
