Hey Lucy – I really like how you organized the “anti-drug messages” part of your mindmap. It read to me as: teenagers are given a lot of information about drugs from a variety of different sources. However, each of these sources are problematic because they offer an incomplete picture. Because of this mixed messaging, it’s hard to discern what is empirical evidence and what is fearmongering, particularly because this information is coming from sources we trust.
It seems like you’re honing in on the importance of transparency in drug education for teenagers. I wonder if there are organizations out there that have that sort of philosophy. Keep at it.
Yes! You summed up my focus better than I have managed to. In my research I haven’t found a ton on transparency in drug education, but I have found one group that looks promising, and I’m excited to see what else I can find.
It seems like you are heading in the right direction and have your path mapped out well for the road ahead of you. I see a possible partnership between us in the future as I am focusing on marijuana legalization, and our topics tie in greatly. I look forward to seeing where you are going with your topic and I wish you the best of luck as you seem to have enough information that any of my input would be redundant.
Hi Lucy,
This is an awesome mind map! The part about the teens wanting to use it to ‘rebel’ is very interesting. Completely true! They want to seem mature, and they don’t want to ‘follow what adults tell them to.’ This clearly shows all of your ideas and the different viewpoints. You also did a great job on briefly describing each of your ideas. Keep it up!
