Bernice,
Your blog posts continue to inspire me. You ask the right questions about how to deal with children. In particular, I am drawn to “How to bring a good influence to children’s lives” and “Understanding them.” Those are exactly the questions that I, as a teacher, frequently grapple with when working with students. So often we think we know what a “good influence” is, but it is so difficult seeing inside a child’s life. Without “Understanding them,” we make a lot of assumptions. Your idea about researching people who have been successful doing this work in the past is a very good one.
