Alex Tolgyesi’s first blog post

I am here because I want to make a difference in our constantly changing world. I also want to help my community. What’s the story is the perfect program to help me get my voice out ant to learn more about topics that interest me. I came here to learn, and engage with other individuals about issues in our community. I really enjoyed talking with other people about serious topics in their community. I look forward to working with fellow students and to learn about my community.

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to study the ocean, specifically coral reefs. Unfortunately, I might never get that chance because global warming is killing the reefs. This got me thinking about other people in my community, and how global warming might be affecting them. I am hoping to look at various vermont industries, and look at the ways climate change might impact the future of vermont.

  • This is great that you want to help the coral reefs, Alex. I think it is awesome that you want to help preserve such an old part of nature that is being destroyed. I noticed that you are looking ahead and want to make a change before it is too late.

  • Glad to read your first entry, Alex. You seem to have a clear motive for investigating this topic. I look forward to seeing where the journey takes you!

  • Hey Alex!
From speaking with you last Saturday and reading your first post I’m really excited to see what you will bring to the table this year. Your passion about the effects of climate change on the ocean is something I’m looking forward to hearing more about. Hopefully your work here will be a jumping off point to save the reefs!

    See you soon!

    Hi Alex,

I will be following your blog posts this year. I am a school counselor at MUHS and while I have had several students participate in What’s the Story, I have never participated myself. I am excited at the opportunity to follow your progress throughout the year and learn more about Vermont industries and the connection to global warming.
