December Retreat Reflection: Working Together

This weekend has taught me a lot about what it means to be a part of a collaborative team. It started with learning about psychological safety, “the belief that you won’t be punished when you make a mistake.” It’s important in a team to respect one another and be open minded of when someone speaks up or does make a mistake since were all human. My role in the group is to get in touch with the dinning services in Middlebury to see how they deal with their food waste as others contact restaurants, farms, food shelves, and teachers. This topic relates to “The Moral Roots of Liberals and Conservatives” because one can not function without the other. I think its great whenever I meet someone with different political or moral values because if everyone shared the same beliefs nothing would change for the better.

    Dear James,

Your comment about the December What’s the Story? Retreat teaches me a lot about what it means to be part of a collaborative team – and, by extension, what it means to be part of a social action network. Thank you.

    Dixie
