Oliver Szott

My name is Oliver Szott and I’m in ninth grade at Woodstock Union High School.

Since I was little, I’ve always been into creating new things: from music I uploaded to Spotify when I was really young, to businesses in my town like craft soda and newspaper sales. Last year, I worked in the legislature which got me really interested in politics.

Climate change is a crucial issue that is affecting our country and our planet more and more and immediate, drastic action is vital to our future. I really would like to learn even more about climate change and work on solutions, in addition to educating Vermonters about it. I’m pretty sure I want to be a part of this group but I’d be open to working on a lot of other topics because there are so many important ongoing and new issues in our state and on Earth.

I hope that I’ll be able to bring a lot to the table and I’m starting this program with an open mind and a passion for learning. I personally think that I’m a pretty decent writer, and I’m pretty good with my phone camera. I like to take photographs and have some prior experience with Davinci Resolve, iMovie, and some other editing programs.

I’m excited to get to meet new people and open to work with anyone. My teachers see me as considerate and as a good team mate, and I also believe that I’ll be helpful and be mindful of other’s needs.
